I am on faculty at New York State Psychiatric Institute at Columbia University Medical Center.<\/p>\r\n<p>I received an Honors Degree in Experimental Psychology from Trinity College, University of Oxford, England.\u00a0 After I worked for four years in Investment Management, I chose to leave finance to pursue my calling in medicine at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons from which I graduated with my M.D. degree and as a member of the honor society AOA.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>I completed Internship and Residency training in Internal Medicine at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City where I was Chief Resident in Internal Medicine.\u00a0 I then practiced Internal Medicine at NY Presbyterian Hospital\/Weill Cornell Medical College.\u00a0 After practice at Cornell, I returned to Columbia to pursue additional Residency Training in Adult Psychiatry.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>For seven years, I directed Psychosocial Services at the outpatient Cancer Center at NYU Langone Medical Center coordinating a multidisciplinary team dedicated to minimizing suffering and maximizing quality of life in patients with cancer. \u00a0I have extensive experience working with patients adjusting to unexpected, serious, personal medical crises and have grown very comfortable collaborating with them, their families and medical team as appropriate.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>It is a privilege to intimately partner with, and care for, patients and families experiencing some of the worst moments in their lives; it is also profoundly meaningful to be able to alleviate some of their suffering.\u00a0 I continue this important work to this day in my work with my private patients.<\/p>\r\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I am Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Psychiatry.
